EAST VILLAGE  pied a terre   New York City
_____________________________________________________________

Our apartment is a charming and open 375 square foot 3rd floor studio on East First Street
between 1st & 2nd Avenue overlooking First Street Park and across from Houston Street:

South light, peaceful and bright.
Wood floors, brick walls,
art & antiques, candles, pine dining nook and small kitchen area
with microwave, small refridgerator, stovetop, and a bar.
There is a full bath, mirrored dressing area, and also a wardrobe with
some hanging space and shelves.
Double futon, (air mattress available also) linens and towels, lively street views, and a backyard terrace.
Wireless available, & small tv with local channels. The building itself is quite safe and locked
on the outside and has an intercom. Smoking is allowed with window open.

The neighborhood is dynamic and central to East Village activities: on the cusp of Soho, Noho,
Lower East Side.
Across the street is a park with an outdoor cafe, playground and handball court.
Places of note:
The New Museum, Bowery Poetry Club, Whole Foods, Russ & Daughters, La MaMa,
Sunshine Cinema, Anthology Film Archives....
On the street are several very good and popular restaurants and cafes such as 'Prune',
plus juice
and coffee bars.
(The BMW Guggenheim Lab chose East 1st St. to launch their first temporary site last summer/fall 2011)
Transportation in every direction: F train across the street, #6 IRT train 3 blocks west.
Bus stops on both corners of the block, and taxis can be easily hailed at any time of the day or night.

More details about the apartment will be emailed beforehand, including favorite neighborhood
restaurants and information on groceries and shopping. Maps and guides are in a folder in the
apt along with the most recent Zagat guide.
